Addictions and EMDR
When our friend and colleague Susan Brown started her practice more than thirty years ago in San Diego County, she didn’t realize just how far reaching and significant her work would be in helping clients end addictive behaviors. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Board Certified Diplomate, Susan’s attention to the critical issues surrounding addictions has been a key factor of her success.
“I’m known for my no-nonsense, to-the-heart-of-the matter approach,” states Susan of her methods. “This simply means I tend to be direct and have a long-practiced ability to get to the heart of a problem quickly.”
Susan is a “cut to the chase” personality. She separates critical issues from the irrelevant, but combines this with a huge dose of compassion for clients battling addiction and other maladaptive behaviors.
An Integrative Approach to Addictions
You’re invited to register for Susan Brown’s unforgettable workshop. “Part of me wants to quit, and part of me doesn’t”: An integrative developmental approach to addiction within an EMDR framework.
Join EMDR Professional Training as we host November 2 & 3, 2019, on the campus of Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. Follow Susan as she explores the roles of attachment, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Ego State “parts work” informed by the Internal Family Systems model (Schwartz), integrated with the eight-phase, three-prong EMDR protocol.
EMDR therapy can address these highly treatment-resistant behaviors and facilitate integrative healing, leading to positive outcomes for your clients.
I hope you’ll join us for a fantastic weekend of learning.
